Mono-alphabetic Cipher
Basically, each letter is substituted with one or more symbols/letters, but each symbol/letter in the encrypted text can only be decoded as one letter.
Example:
Plain-text: flee at once. we are discovered!
Cipher-text: SIAA ZQ LKBA. VA ZOA RFPBLUAOAR!
Examples of mono-alphabetic ciphers include the Caesar Shift and the Pigpen Cipher.
The most commonly used way to crack mono-alph. ciphers is by using frequency analysis.

Also note that some letters follow other letters more often. For example, q (from my knowledge) is almost always followed by a u.
